Building a Stronger Body Everyday

“I’ve learned to appreciate my body, because it’s taken me all the way here and will take me to the end.” – Clémentine Desseaux

I’ll admit it, I gained the Covid 19. That is the 19lbs that many were saying that they gained as a result of less activity and unhealthy eating habit. It’s the snacks for me for sure but as things started to open back up, I found that the clothes that I had no longer fit the body that I had. You know, the moment when your pants don’t quite make it over your thighs, or it becomes a little harder to pull up that zipper.

Yup…all of that was my experience!

So, I thought about the ways that I lost weight in the past and I just did not see myself being able to commit in that same way. So, what is a person to do? Make a commitment to yourself to build a stronger body from the inside out. Who knew that this shift would have me taking vitamins and doing daily workouts? Not me, that’s for sure.

I did research on certain vitamins and things that have become popular through social media. Believe me, not everything that is being talked about is a good choice to use. That being said, there were a few things that piqued my interest. Resveratrol and dandelion root tea both had promising information about them. I wanted to find things that I could add to a healthy lifestyle routine and not just a quick fix.

Let me go back a few steps. In 2021, I had to rush to the hospital for a blood transfusion because my blood count was extremely low. That was scary. At a time when we can’t have people in the hospital with us and you don’t know what the person in the next room may have going on with them…it was an experience that I will not forget. As a result of that, I am taking iron pills daily. I also take vitamin C and drink ginger tea.

The long-term benefits of better digestion and a healthy heart were extremely important to me. I also had a significant confidence boost knowing that both of these items have been used for decades in other parts of the world. Areas like China and Japan, where certain teas and herbs are used regularly for their health benefits, kept coming up in my research.

These, along with a daily exercise routine have contributed to me having more energy, losing weight, and building the stronger body that I need to be the best version of me. That is ultimately the main goal…being the best version of me that I can be. One of the most valuable things that I can share is that you should remind yourself often that this is a journey and everyday counts. That is what keeps me moving forward.

I know this for sure, I did not gain the weight overnight and I won’t be able to lose it overnight either. So, stay connected while I am on this journey.
